Gas Grill Installation

A lot of thought goes into deciding upon the right model of gas grill. Several features, their pros and cons and their effect on the final price is considered carefully before a final decision is taken. One issue that often slips people's minds is the cost to be incurred on installation.

Gas grills are generally placed in-ground or on a patio or deck. If the gas grill needs an in ground installation, a grill post is installed directly into the ground and is secured with concrete. If the mounting is to be on a patio or deck then the grill is secured on to a level wooden deck or cement slab. Once this is complete the gas supply inlets are checked carefully for leaks and other problems.

Some gas grills can be installed by anyone, in other words, without professional help. However, most models need to be professionally installed in order to be safe to handle. The services of a licensed gas fitter is needed to hook up your new natural gas grill. You may need to run an extension line from your existing supply line to your backyard or patio. This should be necessarily handled by licensed personnel. Heating or air conditioning contractors can do this job easily.

During installation ask for a "quick connect" - a hook up that taps into your natural gas supply. This accessory will enable you to connect your grill to the natural gas supply through a flexible hose. So, you can attach and disconnect your grill easily. This gives you the freedom to move it when needed. Having quick connects adds a major element of convenience to your gas grill cooking experience.

Some models are available in a slide-in design that simplifies installation. The installation of such models can be handled by the customers themselves.
