When you have a toaster oven instead of a regular oven, you begin to forget what it was like to have an oven at all. These days convection oven's can take care of just about anything an oven can, on a much smaller scale. As opposed to gas ovens which heat the air by using gas, convection ovens use electricity and a heated fanning system to distribute the heat.
If you live in an area that gets cold in the winter and can't use the trick with the oven to heat your home, you can use the this type of oven to provide some extra warmth. Also, if you live in an area that is hot enough to require you to use your air conditioning, by using this instead of the regular oven, you can control the temperature of your house more efficiently.
While the size of a toaster oven may not enable you to cook for 30-40 people, you will be able to cook food much faster. In recent years, more of the higher end name brand toaster ovens reach cooking heat within 60 seconds!
Another benefit of using a convection toaster oven is the evenness with which your food is cooked. Unlike the microwave, there is no need to flip food around and upside down in the cooking process. The super heated air of the oven engulfs your food and cooks it equally from every angle.
When using a toaster oven, remember that some of the lower end models get hot to the touch after continued use. Be careful not to burn yourself. Additionally, when these pieces of equipment begin to wear down, it is not uncommon for users to receive an electric shock when opening the door of their unit!
